The older I get, the more I feel like I have something to say. Mind you, I don’t think I have all the answers – I am still so very full of questions. I was telling Sally (wife) the other day, “In some respects I feel like Professor Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Dumbledore would pull memories out of his head using his wand and place them in a bowl called the pensieve, a memory storage device. In the movie, the memories would come out of the head like a cobweb and be stored there. I suppose WordPress is my pensieve. I am hopeful that I can pull out a few memories, unclutter my mind of what burdens it, and have a little fun along the way.
As for the Manky Old Boot, in the same movie the cast walks upon an old boot on the top of a hill in a meadow. Harry responds “Why are we standing around this manky old boot?” The boot was a port key, a means to travel from one place to another. I think we all are manky old boots in some respects, on the outside we are tired, worn out, ugly, discarded. But, when you grab hold, you are transported to another place. It is my hope that you will grab on the this “Manky Old Boot” with me and we can discover something new.
